Although well below actual figures, statistics and estimates from Quebec Health and Social Services Ministry show that 40,000 people are reported each year as STBBI carriers (sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections), and three out of four people will be infected at some point in their lives with HPV (human papillomavirus). According to the same sources, the number of gonorrhea infections has tripled and the reported number of chlamydia has doubled in recent years.

Safe sex, as well as regular screenings and tests, may also help to avoid some serious and irreversible complications.

FORCEMEDIC STBBI clinic offers screening and treatment services for sexually transmitted and blood – borne infections (STBI), such as chlamydia, herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, human immunodeficiency (HIV), hepatitis B, hepatitis C and condyloma. Treatments for vaginal infections such as vaginitis, bacterial vaginosis, bartholinitis, Pap tests (screening for cervical cancer) and birth control are also performed at our STBBI clinic.

All our tests are done on-site the same day. Specimens are taken by a doctor and blood tests by a nurse.

INFORMATION FOR YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT:

  • There is no need to be fasting before a blood test.
  • It is preferable for women to schedule their appointments when they are not in their menstrual period, although blood tests can be done at any time.
  • Men should not urinate one hour before the appointment since testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea involves providing a urine sample.
  • If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify the clinic as soon as possible. A $ 30 fee will be charged for all missed appointments or the ones not canceled 24 hours in advance.
