Health Assessment For Heavy Vehicles Drivers | FORCEMEDIC

WHEN TO PASS THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION

If the Société de l’Assurance Automobile du Québec (SAAQ) asks you for a médical report and a health assessment to be able to drive a drive a heavy vehicle, you must pass a medical examination and submit medical report (s) within the required time .

MEDICAL EXAMINATION FREQUENCY

If you drive a heavy vehicle in the United States, you will receive a notice from the SAAQ asking you to take a medical test in order to be authorized to drive it:

  • at ages 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 48, 51, 54, 55, 57, 60 and 63
  • every year from the age of 65
  • if needed, depending on your health state.

By holding a class 1, 2, 3 or 4B driver’s license, you will receive a notice from the SAAQ asking you to take a medical test so you can acquire the authorization to drive a heavy vehicle:

  • at ages 45, 55, 60 or 65
  • every two years thereafter
  • if needed, depending on your health state.
